The Banana Flip

It's Happy Hour! In this episode we're serving our first dessert cocktails. Matthew presents the Banana PB&J. It's sweet, decadent and crust free! Ben is breaking his diet with a Porto Flip. Heavy on the cream, heavy on the port and heavy on the calories. Also, the discuss tips on how to shake your shaker and what Matthew does behind closed doors.

Banana PB&J

  • 1.5 oz Peanut Butter Whiskey
  • 1/4 oz Banana Liqueur
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 oz Orgeat
  • 1 Bar Spoon of Strawberry Preserves
  • 1 Egg White
  • Freeze Dried Strawberry Dust

Combine all ingredients but the strawberry dust to a cocktail shaker and dry shake without ice for 10 seconds. Add ice and shake until well-chilled. Double Strain into a coupe glass and dust top with strawberry dust. Enjoy.

Porto Flip

  • 1 3/4 oz Ruby Port
  • 1 oz Cognac or Brandy
  • 1 oz Heavy Cream
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1.5 tsp fine granulated sugar
  • 1 bar spoon Yellow Chartreuse
  • Garnish: Ground Nutmeg

Combine port, cognac or brandy, cream and egg in a shaker without ice. Shake vigorously to emulsify egg. Add ice and shake for 10-12 seconds. Strain into cocktail glass. Drizzle Yellow Chartreuse over top. Grate whole nutmeg over top of cocktail with a spice grater.
