The Frisky Monkey!

It's Happy Hour! In this episode Matthew is making native San Franciscans pucker with a classic Frisco Sour. Ben is getting into old time elixirs with the forgotten classic, the Monkey Gland. They also debate which spirit they would keep above all others and then advise on how a master of one cocktail is really the master of many. Recipes below.

Frisco Sour

  • 1 2/3 oz Bourbon
  • 1/2 oz Benedictine D.O.M. Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/4 oz Rich Simple Syrup (2:1 Sugar to water)
  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 Dash Orange Bitters
  • 1/2 oz Egg White or Aqua Faba

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain back into the shaker and dry shake again (without ice) and double strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.

Monkey Gland

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
  • 1 - 10 drops of absinthe
  • 1- 1 1/2 tsp grenadine (Semi-homemade!)

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled. Double strain into a Nick & Nora.
