Speaking of cocktails, today Matthew is drinking an Aviation while Ben is drinking a Singapore Sling. Recipes below.

Aviation

  • ¾ ounce lemon juice
  • ½ ounce Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
  • ¼ ounce Crème de Violette
  • Garnish: Brandied cherry
  • Shake all ingredients in a shaker with ice until well-chilled. Double strain into a cocktail glass and add garnish.

Singapore Sling

  • 1/4 oz Cherry Heering liqueur
  • 1/4 oz Grand Marnier (Ben used curacao)
  • 1 oz Pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz Lime juice
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Club soda, to top
  • An orange slice and 3 cherries for garnish
  • Combine all ingredients except the club soda in a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled. Strain into a highball glass, fill the glass with ice, and top with club soda. Make a sail with your orange slice and one cherry and drop the remaining cherries in the glass.
