Repost: Defensive Standouts & Roster Updates

REPOST: Hey, Ben here, I uploaded the wrong audio file when I published this week's Monday episode because I'm a dope. This new upload will ensure everyone gets the correct file. Sorry for clogging the interwebs and your feeds.

Forget losing to the Marlins, it's time to look for good news! Our spelunkers go deep and discuss the defensive greatness of Matt Chapman and Patrick Bailey. They then break down the roster and speculate on its implications for the off season.

On the cocktail side of things Matthew is drinking The Fall of Fig while Ben is drinking a Lost in the Jungle. Recipes below.

The Fall of Fig

  • 2 oz London Dry Gin (Fig Infused)
  • 1/2 oz Benedictine
  • 1/2 - 3/4 oz Fig Syrup
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 2 Dashes Cardamon Bitters

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake 10-12 seconds until well-chilled. Double strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a fig slice. Or don’t.

Lost in the Jungle

  • 1 1/2 oz Mezcal
  • 1 oz Banana Liqueur
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 1/4 oz Simple Syrup
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Combine mezcal, banana liqueur, lime juice and simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled. Double strain into a coupe glass. Float lime while as the garnish.
