Episode 249

Slightly Better Than the White Sox

Did that series seem close? It did, right? Our investigators debate the missed opportunity of the White Sox series, map the paths past the Braves and Mets to the Playoffs, and finally ask what was Plan A if signing Chapman and Snell was Plan B?

Then in the lightning round Matthew casts Hex, Austin Slater has his biggest hit of the year for the Giants, and Ben jumps out of a moving vehicle.

On the cocktail side of the things Ben is drinking a 2024 Giants while Matthew is drinking a Tequila Old Fashioned. Recipes below.

2024 Giants

  • 2 oz White Rum
  • 1 oz Pimm’s No. 1 Cup
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with three brandied cherries.

Tequila Old Fashioned

  • 2 oz Anejo Tequila
  • 1/4 oz Agave Nectar
  • 1 dash Chocolate Bitters
  • 4 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Orange peel for garnish

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled - about 30 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice (preferably a large chunk). Express orange peel oils over drink. Drop peel into the glass. Enjoy!
